Spyder is a prestigious American brand of high end skiwear and ski clothing, including ski jackets and pants for men, women and children. Spyder ski jackets come as waterproof shell jackets or jackets insulated with either down or synthetic fibres. Many of Spyder's premium jackets, such as the Vanquish, Pinnacle and Sanction, feature Gore-Tex membranes to ensure maximum protection and comfort in demanding mountain conditions. Similarly, Spyder ski trousers and bibs (salopettes) are available either with or without insulation and with either Gore-tex or Spyder's own Exo-Shield. Spyder also has a full range of fleeces, mid layers and base layers as well as ski accessories like ski gloves, hats and beanies. Beyond its technical ski gear, Spyder also produces a range of clothing for general active and casual wear, such as t-shirts, shorts, sweatpants, and hoodies.

Spyder was founded in 1978 by David Jacobs, a former Canadian National Ski Team member. Frustrated by the lack of quality racing apparel, Jacobs began designing padded race sweaters from his kitchen. The brand's name, derived from the "spider pants" nickname given to its early racing gear, became official with the addition of the "y" and the now-famous spider logo. Spyder quickly gained a reputation for innovation, becoming the official supplier to the U.S. Ski Team and creating revolutionary technologies like the "SpeedWyre" suit, which was so effective at reducing drag it was banned from competition. While rooted in racing, Spyder has since expanded to offer a wide range of high-performance ski and outdoor apparel for all enthusiasts.
