About the Burton Skeleton Key

The Burton Skeleton Key is here to unlock your full freeride potential! Featuring Burton's Balanced Freeride Geometry, the Skeleton Key has found the perfect blend between a twin and a directional snowboard.

The Skeleton Key uses Burton's Channel system to keep you locked to the board. The Channel offers the complete freedom for you to set up your angles and stance width and is guaranteed with a massive 3-year warranty across the whole board! Burton tested The Channel to the limit and has proven that it can hold twice the amount of force that is set by the governing body. You also use half as many screws when mounting and it can be used with 100% of the bindings from all major brands so if you aren't a lover of Burton bindings then you will still be able to ride this board.

The Skeleton Key comes with Burton's Super Fly II 700G which is their mid-range core which provides the best combination of strength, power, precision, pop and ultimately - fun! Weighing in at just 700 grams this is one of the lightest cores on the market but boasts an impressive strength-to-weight ratio which gives the Skeleton Key a light, floaty feel.

Added to this are Dualzone EGD and Squeezebox which keeps this board ready for anything and won't let you down. It's strong, durable, lightweight, and has a great edge-hold keeping you planted and stable, enabling you to manipulate all your turns with incredible responsiveness and ease. Squeezebox tech is also great in all conditions making uneven terrain much easier to ride.

Twin or directional is the age-old question for creative rippers like Terje. Balanced Freeride Geometry ends the debate with setback camber and a sidecut that is centred on your stance to create a twin freestyle feel when riding a flat base. On edge, it turns tight and quick with the float and prowess expected from a directional deck.

To make sure you keep slashing and having fun, the Skeleton key has been given a full sintered base which keeps you riding fast all season. The Nose is 10mm wider than the tail too which will keep you smiling and on your feet when it gets deep.

This snowboard is for those that like to rip up the whole mountain, whether it's on the piste or in the powder!

Features Include
  • Super Fly II 700G Core - Stronger and lighter woods target specific areas of the core to provide pop, strength and reduce overall weight
  • Dualzone™ EGD™ - Wood grain is positioned along the toe and heel edges on two continuous zones, perpendicular to the rest of the wood core, for consistent edge-hold and added strength
  • Squeezebox Core Profiling - Burton's most versatile profile improves pop and performance through the balance of thicker, more powerful core sections with thinner, more flexible sections. Rider energy is transferred outward from beneath the feet, energizing the tip and tail while making the board snappier, more stable and easier to manipulate
  • Balanced Freeride Geometry - Setback camber and a sidecut that is centered on your stance create a twin freestyle feel when riding flat base. On edge it turns tight and quick with the float and prowess expected from a directional deck
  • Triax Fiberglass - Tri density layers of fibreglass from tip to tail to add strength and snap
  • Pro-Tip™ - Pro-Tip™ trims the thickness in the tip and tail reducing weight
  • Sintered WFO Base - Infuses specially formulated wax deep into the pores of the extra-absorbent, high-density sintered material, making it ultradurable for riding all season in any condition
  • Infinite Ride™ - Overbuilding the board and then using a machine to break the board in meaning its ready to ride as soon as you get it and will last season after season
  • Super Sap Epoxy - A bio based resin that reduces the carbon footprint by 50% compared to conventional epoxies.
  • The Channel - Rather than using a 4x4 system, Burton have introduced the Channel. A system which allows you to fully adjust your stance width and angles. Your bindings will have to be compatible with the Channel and conversion discs can be bought separately. Burton offer a 3 year warranty on all boards with the Channel
  • Freeride Directional Shape - Features a setback camber and a sidecut that is centered on your stance to create a twin freestyle stance when riding flat base, and on edge it turns tight and quick with the float and prowess of a directional deck
  • 10mm Taper - Provides a versatile ride that promotes free and easy turns, making this board perfect for riding in any condition
  • Directional Camber Bend - Has camber under both feet for stability through deep-diving turns and variable conditions and a rockered nose that adds lift for increased float
