What are FASE Snowboard Bindings and Why Do I Need Them?

For decades, snowboard bindings have been evolving. From Flow’s rear-entry design to the Nidecker Supermatic’s automatic step-in tech and Burton Step On’s boot-binding integration, riders have been searching for a faster way to strap in—without sacrificing board feel or response.
Now, the next evolution is here: FASE, the new Fast Entry System that delivers the speed of a step-in binding with the locked-in feel of a traditional two-strap setup.
Designed to give you insanely quick strap-in speed without losing comfort, performance, or adjustability, FASE has been seven years in the making. It’s been tested and fine-tuned by some of the best riders on the planet, and now it’s finally ready to drop for Winter 2025/26.
Whether you're sending it in the park, charging big lines, or just lapping with your crew, FASE is built to ride hard, ride fast, and ride hassle-free.
Curious? Let’s dive into everything you need to know about FASE!
What Exactly Is the FASE Fast Entry System?

FASE is a revolutionary two-strap binding system that delivers blazing-fast strap-ins without sacrificing the snug fit and board feel of a traditional binding.
It’s an effortless one-hand system, meaning you can be locked in and ready to ride in seconds—no more awkward fumbling or sitting down to strap in.
It works with any boot, any board, any insert pattern, and it’s been stress-tested by some of the gnarliest riders on the planet.
How Do I Get In And Out of The FASE Bindings?
The Fase process couldn't be easier.
Firstly, you'll need to set your toe-strap, which once adjusted to your boot, can be locked and left in place.
Simply stepping into the binding automatically engages the AutoBack which locks the hi-back into place.
Next, buckle down the FastStrap ankle-strap and you're good to ride!
To exit the Fase, just undo the FastStrap and step out. The AutoBack will automatically disengage as you lift your foot from the binding, dropping the hi-back into its release position.

How Do FASE Bindings Compare to Nidecker Supermatics and Burton Step On Bindings?
FASE is not a step-in binding, but it delivers step-in speed without requiring any special boots.
Like the Nidecker Supermatic, FASE works with any snowboard boot—but unlike automatic step-in systems, it retains the classic feel, adjustability, and performance of a traditional two-strap binding.
Burton Step On, on the other hand, requires specific boots with built-in connection points, limiting your options. If you want the freedom to choose your boots, the comfort of a traditional binding, and the fastest entry system available, FASE is the way to go.
Is FASE Actually Trusted by Pro Riders?
Absolutely. The FASE Fast Entry System has already been put to the test by some of the biggest names in snowboarding.
Riders like Ståle Sandbech, Jeremy Jones, Pat Fava, Victor De Le Rue, Tor Lundstrom, Chris Bradshaw, and Scott Stevens have all been rocking FASE in every condition imaginable—from the Natural Selection Tour to the X Games to the Freeride World Tour. If the best in the world trust it, you know it’s built to perform.

Will It Work with Any Snowboard Boot?
Yes! One of the best things about FASE is that it’s fully boot-compatible, no matter what brand you’re riding. Unlike some step-in systems that lock you into a specific boot design, FASE lets you ride whatever fits your feet best.
Who Is FASE Designed For?
FASE is built for any snowboarder who wants to ride faster and more efficiently without sacrificing performance. If you’re someone who hates sitting down to strap in, struggles with traditional bindings due to mobility issues, or just wants to get more laps in without the hassle, FASE is for you.
It’s perfect for park riders who want to drop in without delay, freeriders who need a reliable system in deep snow, and all-mountain riders who want the convenience of quick entry with the security of a traditional binding.
From seasoned pros to first-time shredders, FASE delivers ease, speed, and all-day comfort for every rider.
Does FASE Work in Deep Powder?

You bet. Powder days can be a hassle when it comes to strapping in, but FASE makes it easier than ever. Just make sure to clear out any excess snow from your bindings, and you’ll be locked in way faster than your friends—so you can get those fresh turns before they even finish buckling up.
Does FASE Work in the Park?
Absolutely! FASE is designed for freestyle riding, giving you the natural flex, locked-in feel, and response you need for rails, jumps, and transitions. Unlike step-in bindings that can feel stiff or restrictive, FASE moves with you, giving you the confidence to send it on every feature.
Is It Durable Enough for All Conditions?
FASE was built to handle anything the mountain throws at it. With a minimalist yet bombproof design, it’s been put through thousands of hours of testing in every terrain and condition. Whether you're riding in the rain, battling ice, or sending it off cliffs, FASE won’t let you down. Plus, it comes with a lifetime warranty, so you know it’s built to last.

Is It as Secure as a Traditional Two-Strap Binding?
Yes—100%. If anything, FASE enhances the locked-in feel that riders love about two-strap bindings. The design gives you total confidence that your setup is locked down tight, no matter how hard you push it. Rider Pat Fava said it best: "I was skeptical at first, but these feel just like a two-strap binding—only faster and easier."
What About Adjustability? Can I Still Dial in My Fit?

FASE focuses on entry and exit speed, so all the usual adjustability—heel cup, forward lean, straps, and flex settings—depends on the brand of bindings you choose.
How Much Does It Weigh Compared to Regular Bindings?
FASE integrates seamlessly into high-end bindings from top brands, keeping the weight comparable to existing two-strap models. No unnecessary bulk—just pure performance.

Can I Really Strap in with Just One Hand?
Yes! The extra-long FastStrap ladder stays attached, making it effortless to strap in with just one hand. Once your boot is in, you simply pull the strap over, lock it down, and you’re good to go. No faff, no frustration—just send it.
Do I Need to Press a Lever to Get Out?
Nope! Just pop the ankle strap open like you normally would to release the heel mechanism, and you’re out. They’ve streamlined the process to eliminate unnecessary steps, so no extra levers, no hassle—just a quick, clean exit.
Where Can I Get FASE Bindings from Different Brands?
FASE is partnering with some of the biggest snowboard brands to integrate this technology into their best bindings. Look out for:
Bataleon Blaster FASE
ThirtyTwo T32M FASE
Rome Katana AW FASE
Jones Mercury FASE
These bindings are dropping for Winter 2025/26, so stay tuned and be ready to upgrade your setup!
