This skateboard bearings buying guide provides you with everything you need to know about skate bearings:

• Skateboard bearings are a set of small stainless steel balls held in a circular case and placed inside your wheels.
• Skateboard bearings are what separate your skate wheels from your trucks (axles). 
• All skateboard bearings are the same size, so any skate bearing will fit any skate wheel and all skateboard trucks – simple!
• Your bearings (along with the wheels) determine how smoothly your skateboard will roll and how fast you will go. 
• Bearing quality is measured using the Abec scale. The higher the Abec, the better the quality and the faster you will go i.e Abec 9 bearings are faster than Abec 3’s.
• Faster isn't always better, some technical skaters prefer a good abec 3 bearing as they can make it easier to judge your speed into blocks and ledges etc.
• Bearings are usually pretty honestly priced – the more you pay, the better the bearings.
