The Absolute Guide to Line Ski Technology

LINE skis technology

LINE Skis have been changing the way we think about skiing since '95 with incredible product innovations and the newest and best technologies available. Below you will find all of the tech and features available in LINE Skis so go on, get out there and Ski & Destroy!

LINE make 3 different Macroblock cores:
Maple Macroblock - 50% Aspen tips with 80% Maple undefoot for a smooth, consistent flex and response
Maplelite Macroblock - 100% Aspen tips reduces weight whilst 100% Maple underfoot increases response and durability
Aspen Macroblock - 100% Aspen for the lightest and most nimble ski available

LINE cores

3D Die cut titanal laminate provides more power and grip where you need it while reducing weight where you don't. This produces a hughly responsive ski.

Tip to tail carbon-fiber stringers enhance energy and pop without adding weight. This means you always get the pop you need to get onto that knarly rail or clear that kicker. Also great for ollieing over snowboarders.

The ski's tip is thinned out in the core and sidewall to reduce the weight of a pair by 100 grams. This reduces swing weight making the ski more lively and responsive. It also helps to reduce chatter and vibration through the ski.

30% thicker base and edge increases the durability and tuning life of your skis so you don't have to worry about clipping a rock or dinging a rail.

fatty base edge

The thinnest part of the ski has been brought backwards to be just in front and behind the bindings. This creates a hinge point allowing you to control butters and presses without sacrificing all mountain performance.

The softer tip floats in powder and initiates turns easily while the stiffer tail provides stability, power and high speed control. Directional Flex is found on LINE's Freeride, Powder and Big Mountain skis.

The ski features the same flex pattern in front and behind the bindings to make riding switch as easy as riding forwards. Symmetric flex is found on LINE's Freestyle and All Mountain skis and is often paired with a centred mounting stance.

The ski tapers earlier in the tip and tail to reduce drag and hooking in powder.

The rise in the tip starts ealier to keep the ski floating on top of the softer stuff without having to lean back. This makes turn initiation easier but doesn't raise the tip so much that you get chatter. This is a great combination for all mountain performance.

More grip and less slip with a 20% longer sidecut. This means more of the ski is in contact with the snow when turning giving the performance of a piste carver without sacrificing all mountain performance. 4 Directions of fibreglass reinforcement around the core offer durability with a super light and responsive feel.

High density ABS sidewalls absorb vibration and improve durability. This produces a ski which feels smooth and solid, even when dropping a 50ft cliff!

A combination of a cap and sidewall construction gives both a light & responsive feel with a smooth and solid ride.

6 plys of horizontally layered Maple veneers built like a skateboard. This gives a bombproof construction which is perfect for hitting boxes, rails and even concrete! This construction is found on LINE's toughest Freestyle skis

5 Different sidecut radius shapes are blended into one to give the ski perfect control no matter how much edge you are on. This keeps the ski nimble and responsive at a range of speeds.

The Symmetric 5Cut takes the standard 5Cut radius and applies it to an identical twin shape. This means the ski performs exactly the same whichever way you ski it.
