About the Dakine Brass Tuning

The Dakine Brass Tuning Brush is a multi-use brass tuning brush with a 10 x 6cm working area. It's made for cleaning and exposing the base structure prior to, or after, waxing, and also for adding structure to the base for Spring riding.

But why do I need a brush?

If you take two pieces of polished glass, put a drop of water on one and then press them together, they'll stick to each other. If, however, the glass has channels carved in it, the water will just run through the panes. The same is true with snowboards.

If you buff your board up using circular motions making it all shiny, it will stick to the snow. By brushing it and making all your strokes from nose to tail, you're actually making lots of little grooves and channels in the base that will help your board glide over the snow faster.
