With stereo graphics on the deck and bold neon on the base, the Faction Prodigy 3 skis definitely stand out on the mountain. But that's just the beginning. These Faction skis are beautifully designed to be so durable they can be enjoyed by anyone, in all conditions.
One of the widest models in the series, the Prodigy 3 skis boast a super-versatile 106mm waist. This makes them spot-on for skiers who want to pack plenty of freeride and soft snow performance into a ski that can still rail groomers comfortably when required.
One of the more directional shapes in the Faction lineup, the Prodigy 3 features a slightly set-back mount point to maximise forward stability, together with a firm to medium flex that combines with Full Sidewall Construction and camber underfoot. This creates a ski that feels reliable and burly, with plenty of edge hold. It also allows the Prodigy 3s to carve well on firm snow, with enough suspension to be very capable in choppy and variable snow.
There's definitely still an element of playfulness to these guys though, with plenty of tip rocker and moderate semi-twin tail rocker for float. This allows the skis to brake loose and slash in soft snow, with easy turn initiation for a nimble feel. The tip also features a tapered shape, where the widest point of the tip is pushed back towards the binding, lowering swing weight to improve the ability to pivot. This also lowers the drag effects caused by powder snow to help the skis feel surfy and smooth on those deep days.
All of these features are wrapped around a Poplar Wood Core that's snappy and durable, which ultimately makes the Faction Prodigy 3 skis a dependable and versatile option for any and all playful all-mountain skiers. Especially if you prioritise soft snow performance but still need something you can rely on in all conditions.
Directional Twin -A skinnier tail width than in the tip provides downhill performance. A twin tip in the tail encourages playfulness and freestyle attitude, meaning you can ride switch without problem.
Poplar Core - A light-coloured, medium-weight, durable softwood that flexes and pops nicely as well as having a whole load of vibration absorption capabilities
Full Strength Sidewalls - Sidewalls are stable, strong and give great grip
Elliptical Radius Sidecut -Longer radius underfoot and shorter radii in the tip and tail allows for a variety of turn lengths
Die-Cut PTEX 3000 - This sintered base material is fast and is more porous than other materials so holds wax better
Anti-Chip Micro-Cap - The topsheet is slightly rolled over the topsheet to protect this area which is otherwise sensitive to damage
XL 2.5 mm Edges - Extra thick edges provide extra durability for riders who jib and hit rails
Surf Zones - The rocker has been designed alongside the taper to give a smooth and surfy ride in all conditions
