The Giro Ratio MIPS snowboard/ski helmet has been constructed with features found in Giro's premium range of helmets balancing the ratio between tech and affordability to get the best of both worlds.
The Multi-Directional Impact Protection System, MIPS for short, is comprised of two liners that are attached by an elastic layer. The MIPS technology allows the liners to rotate independently of each other when subjected to an angled force, this reduces the forces on the head, and in turn, reduces the potential for injury for ultimate protection.
The Hard Shell construction makes the helmet extremely durable due to the tough ABS plastic to absorb heavy impacts while optimised for style and ventilation. The Ratio MIPS features an In-Form fit system using a dial for easy on-the-go fast tuning, creating a comfortable custom fit. If that wasn't enough the Ratio is fitted with an impact-absorbing and lightweight EPS foam liner!
The Ratio MIPS helmet has an adjustable Thermostat Control venting system, as well as Giro's Stack Venting. Stack venting places a vent at the front of the helmet, aligned with the top of the goggles, this allows the warm, and potentially damp, air that comes from the goggles to quickly escape from the helmet, keeping you dry and comfortable.
MIPS: Multi-Directional Impact Protection System- Provides more protection in certain impacts. In an angled impact, the elastomeric attachment system stretches to allow the foam liner to rotate independently around your head
Hard Shell Construction: Produces great helmets at a great value. A rugged outer shell is molded and then attached to the EPS foam liner
In Form Fit System: Makes it easy to dial in a custom fit in seconds — even with gloves on. An ergo-friendly dial at the base of the helmet provides up to 6cm of adjustment and enhanced stability
Vertical Tuning: Accommodates different goggles and head shapes for a custom fit free of gaper gap
Thermostat Control: Adjustable venting allows you to custom-tune airflow instantly with a simple, low-profile control button on the outside of the helmet
Stack Vent: Developed based on research showing the majority of warm air that can cause fogging comes from the goggle's centre top vent. Aligning the Stack Vent in the helmet with the centre vent of the goggle helps keep it clear and fog-free
