This allows you to get cinema quality slow motion footage at home. 1080p Full HD footage also gets a boost up to 120 frames per second.

The more powerful processor also allows the Hero 4 Black Edition to rule the roost in the photo department too with a 12mp sensor capable of shooting in burst mode up to 30 photos per second. This can be used to produce incredible time lapse and stop motion videos. The faster processor has also allowed GoPro to beef up the software functionality including their awesome Protune settings. Protune can now be used for photos as well as videos and allows for professional grade tuning of colour, ISO Limit, white balance, sharpness and exposure by unlocking manual control of these features in the camera.

Other hardware upgrades include a powerful new audio system which captures clean, high fidelity sound with twice the dynamic range of previous GoPro cameras. A new integrated analogue to digital converter also means the GoPro Hero 4 is compatible with professional level low sensitivity external microphones for immersive stereo sound audio capture. Other hardware updates include Bluetooth for the first time ever on a GoPro camera. GoPro haven't replaced the WiFi though so now you get even more options for connection to PCs, Macs, smartphones and tablets. This means you can use your tablet or smartphone as a viewfinder or to playback footage and share it via social media, email and more.

An auto low light mode allows the camera to do the work for you, readjusting to give the optimal performance in lower light conditions. An after dark setting also allows you to capture Night Photo and Night Lapse meaning whether you're shooting the Milky Way or a campfire hangout the shots will look better than ever before.
