The Leki Wanderfreund Makalu is a 3-section telescopic hiking pole well suited to everyday use - on and off-trail.

A comfortable Aergomed T-grip with wrist-leash delivers comfort and security while the high-strength aluminium shaft collapses down to a travel-friendly 63cm. The telescopic design gives you 57cm height adjustment allowing for the ultimate customisation across changing terrain.

Leki's Speed Lock 2 lever-adjustment system is quick and easy to use and provides a secure hold that won't loosen with use. Carbide tips offer precision placement for stability while an optional rubber walking pad gives you efficient grip with silent placement on hard surfaces.

I've used Leki walking poles for nearly 40 years, so when my wife needed a stick to walk with there was only ever one option in my mind and this is it. I bought her a pair of sticks so that she could walk balanced and she loves them. They are very easy to adjust and the locks simply do not slip - they are rock solid. She uses them as "normal" walking sticks and fully extended as walking poles and the hand grips are very comfortable and offer a variety of different grip options. Would definitely recommend these to anyone who needs support with their mobility.

I am having to use a walking stick for distance walking due to having osteoarthritis in my hip. I am so pleased I opted for this model, it is lightweight, easy to use, the handle is much more comfortable than any other stick I have owned or tried. I wanted one that was relatively portable as we are travelling on holiday in June. With it being telescopic, it’s relatively small when packed away and can easily be attached to my rucksack when not using. Highly recommend.
