The Never Summer West is a powerful & versatile all-mountain snowboard which features Never Summer's Ripsaw Rocker Camber profile and is available in a female-specific version.
This profile is designed to give an aggressive, vice-like edge hold which is perfect for precision in hard and icy conditions. The underfoot camber blends into the rocker in the rest of the board, giving the rider pop, powder performance, and the same reliable versatility of Never Summer's original rocker camber profile.
Never Summer use their RDS 2 dampening system on the West. This system has three narrow, yet technical, damping layers which absorb vibration and shock, this stops it from echoing through the board, allowing the rider to control the board with ease, even in tricky terrain.
This snowboard comes with Vario Power Grip Sidecut, which is essentially a straight section between the bindings, a shallow radius section under the feet and a deep radius section on the contact points.
The Vario Power Grip Sidecut gives riders quicker turn initiation and better edge hold by creating more contact points along the edge. In turn, the Power Grip sidecut prevents edge wash-outs and allows you to keep control in icy and windblown conditions.
The West boards all feature a Carbonium Topsheet. This top sheet is highly durable and features a carbon fibre texture, therefore the board's graphics will stay fresh, and the top sheet also gives grip reducing the need for an extra stomp pad!
The West comes with a Super-Light Wood core, which is reinforced by composites, resulting in a board which is strong, yet still lively and fun. The core supports a medium flex combined with the Ripsaw Rocker Camber profile making this board ideal for intermediate to advanced riders looking to blast a piste, slash some powder or catch some air!
- Carbonium Topsheet -This topsheet is super durable and provides excellent scratch and chip resistance. It has a carbon fibre like texture which gives it more grip so it has the same effect as a stomp pad
- Extended Transition Area - A small flat section in the board which increases float in powder, and improves turn initiation
- Elastomeric Underfoot Stabilizers - Dampening material is placed directly beneath the bindings to provide optimum vibration absorption and increased high speed stability
- STS Pre-Tensioned Fibreglass - This pre-hardened, pre-tensioned and layered laminate has added elastomer stringers between 0 and 90 degrees, this produces a super strong bond between the fibre laminates and gives snowboards excellent strength, edge hold and performance
- NS SuperLight Wood Core- Uses sustainably grown, genetically modified Poplar wood fused with Birch hardwood, this is one of the lightest, most durable cores on the market
- Vario Power Grip Sidecut - Uses multiple radius's to create more contact points when flexed for supreme edge hold
- RDS 2 Damping System - A lightweight system which uses three narrow laminated damping layers which give the perfect combination of vibration absorption and stability. It is perfect for both liveliness and control
- Low Profile Tip/Tail - Maximises the material contact with the snow for more powerful ollie/nollie pop with added stability
- Bi-Lite Fibreglass - an amazingly strong laminate that simply lasts longer and delivers incredibly smooth turn initiation
- Carbon VXR Laminate Technology - Increases pop and edge to edge power by seamlessly integrating with the other laminate technologies that Never summer pump in
- Sintered P-Tex Sidewall - Super strong and durable, even at cold temperatures. Never Summer have never seen one crack!
