Snowboard goggles with polarised lenses work well in bright sunny conditions because they significantly reduce glare from reflective surfaces, making it easier to see contours and irregularities. The reduction in glare can, however, obscure the glare from icy patches, making them harder to spot and avoid. In bright sunshine, polarised lens snowboard goggles enhance contrast and clarity but can be too dark in heavily shaded areas, dense tree runs, or during overcast weather so should really only be used on sunny days. Please be aware that polarised lenses can cause visibility issues with screens, such as those on lift ticket scanners, smartphones or GPS devices.
