Running Poles

At first glance trail running poles might look the same as Walking / Hiking / Trekking Poles but there are some significant differences. Running poles need to be much lighter to reduce their swing weight and prevent fatigue so they usually use lightweight materials such as carbon. Running poles tend to be used selectively (e.g. during steep climbs) so need to be fast deploying - for this reason almost running poles are almost always Z-folding, collapsing very compactly for stashing in a vest or belt while running.
