About the Salewa Ergo Belay System

The Salewa Ergo Belay System Set comes with an auto-locking belay device and a Belay Twist Lock Carabiner that features an added belay gate to avoid cross-loading. The set works seamlessly to create a smooth belaying action, ideal for sport climbers or indoor climbing.

The Ergo Belay design eliminates the need for hands to be fumbling about when switching from paying out to taking in rope. Its ergonomic shape and grip allow for one hand to be above the device and the other to permanently be ready on the brake side, both perfectly in control - see the video on the left for a visual representation.

Should the climber take a fall, the quick engagement of the belay device and carabiner will lock into place. Switching to giving out rope can be done smoothly without the risk of blocking when the lip of the device is tilted upwards with an intuitive action of the hand and thumb.

The Twist lock element of the Salewa Belay Twist eliminates the risk of opening when in use and the added belay gate keeps the device locked in place on your belay loop. The gate prevents the carabiner from moving and avoids any cross-loading making belaying a safe, smooth operation as it should be.
