Size conversions between the different worldwide measuring systems (Mondo, EU, UK and US) differ by brand but this table is the one used by the vast majority. The table has been produced by Absolute-Snow after hundreds of hours of research, physically measuring shoes in a wide range of styles and brands and with extreme care and attention because, as a specialist online retailer, we know how important it is to provide accurate sizing information.
Most shoes are manufactured using the Mondo scale - whereby each size goes up by a half centimeter. This table converts Mondo to UK, US and EU sizes.
International Shoe Sizes - Converted from Mondo Sizes
|17.0||11 C||12 C||28.7|
|17.5||11.5 C||12.5 C||29.3|
|18.0||12 C||13 C||1||30|
|18.5||12.5 C||13.5 C||1.5||30.7|
Some shoes are manufactured using EU sizes. The following table converts EU sizes to Mondo, UK and US sizes.
International Shoe Sizes - Converted from EU Sizes
|28||16.5||10 C||11 C|
|29||17.3||11 C||12 C|
|30||18||12 C||13 C|
|31||18.8||13 C||13.5 C|
Because some brands use their own formula we recommend clicking on the "tape measure / sizing" link on our product description pages to navigate to brand specific size charts which we produce whenever the information is available.
How to Measure Your Size
Go with your normal shoe size or, if you are usually between sizes, go to the larger end of your range. There is usually no need to buy bigger or smaller than your normal shoe size.
Most footwear is manufactured using the Mondopoint sizing system. 'Mondo' means 'world' and mondopoint is the global standard - which is very simple, making it nice'n' easy to choose the correct size footwear. The Mondopoint size is the length of the shoe's insole measured in cm. To work out your size, the best way is to look it up on a pair shoes which fit you well or to measure the length of the insole on your best fitting pair of shoes. Remove the insole and measure, using a steal measuring tape, from the extreme tip of the toe to the extreme tip of the heel. The measurement will ALWAYS be exact to the nearest 0.5cm. You will never get 30.2 or 28.8; it will always be 30.0 exactly. This is your mondo shoe or boot size. Checkout this video to have Adam explain it all in plain English. He is using a snowboard boot but the same principle applies to all footwear.
