Timberland sizes are correct if you refer to Mondo, US or UK Women's sizing. Their 'translation' to UK men's and to EU sizes is different to most other brands and is not correct because in the EU and the UK there is no difference between men's and women's sizes but, according to the data in the Timberland table below, there is!
We therefore recommend:
● If you have owned Timberland footwear before, simply order the same size again.
● Use Mondo sizing.
● If using UK men's sizing, choose a half size bigger than your normal shoe size.
If your normal shoe size is UK 10, buy a Timberland UK 10.5 = Mondo 29.0
● Ignore Timberlands EU sizing.
If you prefer to use EU sizing we have added an "EU Absolute" column showing the correct conversion from Mondopoint. EU shoe sizes increase in 3.333mm increments - which is why, when presented to a single decimal point, they should always end with .0, .3 or .7 and never with .5.

Absolute Confidence
This situation has arisen because Timberland's shoe sizing system was developed with errors and inconsistencies from the outset. At a time when all shoes were bought in store, inaccurate size labelling was not an issue because it was easy to try several pairs to find the best fit. Now, with more shoes being bought online, it is important for sizing to be accurate and reliable. As a specialist footwear retailer, Absolute-Snow have seized the initiative by publishing this guide; hopefully Timberland will catch up one day soon! We are experts on shoe sizing and are confident in the information we have provided because we:
Have been selling shoes in Sports Shop for years.
Carefully research shoe sizing for every brand.
Are very proud of our low returns rate.
Have been selling footwear online since 2004.
How to Measure Your Mondo Size
The Mondopoint size of a shoe is the length of the shoe's insole measured in cm. To work out your size, the best way is to look it up on a pair shoes which fit you well or to measure the length of the insole on your best fitting pair of shoes. Remove the insole and measure, using a steal measuring tape, from the extreme tip of the toe to the extreme tip of the heel. The measurement will ALWAYS be exact to the nearest 0.5cm. You will never get 30.2 or 28.8; it will always be 30.0 exactly. This is your mondo shoe or boot size. Checkout this video to have Adam explain it all in plain English. He is using a snowboard boot but the same principle applies to all footwear.
