Ski puffer jackets and coats are made using just one or a combination of goose down, duck down, feathers or synthetic hollow fibers such as 3M Thinsulate. So the filling stays in place, ski puffer jackets are almost always quilted. Ski puffers make great mid layers if skiing in cold weather conditions but can also be worn as an outer layer in dry conditions or, if DWR coated, in wet conditions as well.
