About the Wild Country Astro

The Astro from Wild Country is an ultra lightweight, quality all-round quickdraw that won't weigh you down. The 2 Astro wire gate carabiners are connected by a super strong 10cm, 10mm dyneema with Wild Country Tadpole 'o' ring to hold the 'biners in place and make sure they're always correctly orientated.

The 2 wiregate 'biners are lightweight, reliable, strong and super easy to clip into while eliminating 'gate flutter'. This is a rare condition created when a carabiner is slammed against the rock creating the gate to open. This then means the strength of the carabiner is reduced from the 'closed gate strength' to the 'open gate strength'. A wiregate's gate has less mass and therefore is less likely to open in cases of 'gate flutter’; also, wiregates won't freeze so are great for Alpine climbs.

The Astro’s technology combines plenty of strength with a definitive design that keeps weight loss to a minimum. Small, but built to sit perfectly in the hand they are really easy to use. Built with easy clip ‘Tech-wire’ wiregate and skinny, safe, hooded nose that makes it perfect for super slick clipping it’s not hard to see why it handles so well.
