About the Burton Family Tree Hitchhiker
The 2021 Burton Hitchhiker Re:Flex snowboard binding is a revolution in split board-specific performance. Innovative design and strong, reliable materials make this Burton x Spark R&D brainchild a great solution for ruling the ups and downs of backcountry touring.
The Hitchhiker uses a machined Aluminium Tesla T1 baseplate designed 100% for split boarding. The strength to weight ratio on these bindings is unreal and the efficiency with which energy is transferred from rider to board will amaze you.
The single-component, one-piece hi-back offers immediate response and a smooth feel. The highback is set to negative lean too and can be quickly changed using Burton's Quick-Adjust FLAD tool-free forward lean adjuster, meaning you can get set up at the top in no time at all. In order to increase the comfort factor even further, Burton has Wrapped the upper portion of the hi-back with padding to eliminate unwanted pressure points.
Comfort is carried on through the rest of the binding with Hammockstrap ankle straps and Supergrip Capstrap toe straps. The Hammockstrap uses a stitchless design that prevents pinch points and allows Burton to pre-shape the strap to match the contours of a boot. The Nylon spine built into it retains board response by giving a more direct connection.
The Flex Slider is a thinned-out section of the strap that hinges and allows the ankle strap to move out of the way when you're getting into your bindings and comes in very useful when strapping in remote or awkward places. The Supergrip Capstrap toe straps are lightweight and soft with outstanding grip and comfort.
The Hitchhiker Binding mounts directly to 2015 and newer Burton split boards without any additional hardware needed. To mount the Hitchhiker Binding to any other split board, you must purchase additional interface hardware sold separately.
