About the Capita Mega Mercury

Following the popularity of the all-mountain favourite, the Mercury, Capita have introducesd the Mega Merc.

The shape of the Mega Merc is taken directly from the Mercury but the internal construction has some serious upgrades. The core is an FSC Certified 3D Thermopolymer Starship Core, which containes only the highest rated Poplar. With a strength to weight ratio comparible to Paulownia, this core retains the poppiness of Poplar and then achieves its signature feel with the addition of bonded post-consumer recycled thermopolymer channels, forming an advanced hybrid core.

Capita have included Mega-wide Carbon tape on both the top and bottom of the wood core, providing extra power and respose. The Holysheet Tri/Tri Fibreglass layup, with Magic Bean resin, has a higher glass to weight ratio than normal fibreglass making for a powerful and dynamic ride.

The Resort V2 profile is an all-terrain shape, which has a raised camber platform through the inserts, to retain high-speed edge hold through variable terrain, elevated contact points to land and float in powder and Flat Kick tip and tail arcs for faster, more aggressive transitions. The mega Merc also has Capita's New Age Directional Sidecut with Death Grip, a progressive sidecut which incorporates a reverse sidecut arc in the midsecion to provide increased edge contact during turns.

Capita's Hyperdrive Base is exclusive to the brand, it's an ultra-high density sintered base with an ultra-high molecular weight, making it really durable and perfect for riding fast. The Mega Merc comes with Capita's Moonshot Pro-Tune, a performance grind structure allowing you to make the most of the high performance base.
