About the Rossignol Blackops Sender
Brand new for winter 2021 Rossignol have introduced their Blackops series, a range of freeride focused all-mountain skis replacing the popular S series such as the Soul 7. The goal of this range was create a go anywhere do anything ski that can cruise, charge, float and grip through mixed snow conditions with ease. Near the top of the range sits the Blackops Sender, with 102-106mm underfoot depending the length it could be the most versatile. Wide enough to enjoy deep powder days but still offers a responsive feel on the hardpack.
Rossignols race derived technology LCT technology runs down the centre of the ski. In this ski double Line Construction technology is used to harness the power and energy needed for wider skis, these carbon stringers add torsional stiffness and vibration dampening. Damp Tech is further used to enhance control, it reduces vibration to help increase contact with the snow for more fluid and smooth ride over variable conditions.
The Blackops Sender is equipped with Air Tip, an exclusive technology to Rossignol which uses honeycomb to lighten the ends of the ski to facilitate better turn initiation and reduce the swing weight for a more responsive ski. The Extended core increases ski snow contact providing greater ski stability particularly when turning, which improves precision. The profile and construction of the Blackops Sender really boast its all-mountain versatility, it can cut through the trees or charge down wide open lines or simply cruise around the resort.
Rossignol developed the Blackops series with sustainability in mind, it uses FSC® certified paulownia wood core combined and the use of a recycled topsheet, base and edges to reduce the environmental impact during the product cycle.
The Blackops sender is idea for advanced to expert skiers who want one ski to explore all the mountain and cope with varied snow conditions without hesitation.
- Double LCT VISCO - To suit wider skis, to stringers are used in the core to harness power and give stability
- Paulownia Core - Provides a good compromise between lightness and performance, the core is is FSC®certified meaning recycled materials are used
- Air Tip - This is an exclusive Rossignol technology, the tip has a honeycomb construction, therefore most of it is filled with air. This focuses the weight in the centre of the ski which maximises control and power beneath the skiers feet
- Damp tech - The Damp Tech insert located at the tip reduces ski vibration to give the skier better absorption of uneven terrain.
- Rectangular Sidewall - side walls running the entire length of the ski to optimise the skier's grip, balance and power.
