Following the success of their debut two years ago, the Kaya Ski series is back for Roxy's 2020 lineup, and these skis are all about progression and allowing the women who use them to ski better than ever before.
At 77mm underfoot, the Kaya 77 makes a perfect piste ski or first all-mountain ski, and will have those beginner and intermediate skiers looking to put down a mix of long arcing carves as well as short sharp turns feeling instantly at home.
It all starts with the partial wood core, which blends the snappy flexibility and vibration absorbing qualities of poplar wood with lightweight expanded polyurethane foam, so you'll never feel like there's too much ski on your feet. This foam material is also an effective shock absorber, so when conditions firm up or start to become uneven towards the end of a slushy day. The Kaya 77 is built to soak up all the little bumps and impacts that you'll encounter on the hill, ultimately offering a smooth ride that keeps your confidence sky high throughout the day.
Next up is the Semi-Sandwhich cap construction, which gives all benefits of full sidewall but keeps weight low by reducing the need for heavy materials. Sidewall underfoot gives great edge hold and stability through the turns, while cap construction at the tip and tail reduces the weight and bulk in these key areas, wheter the top sheet wraps around and meets directly with the edges.
This matches up perfectly with a majority camber Piste Rocker profile through the ski for maximum stability and edge hold, with a slight tip rocker that eases turn initiation and all-mountain performance for when it snows. A traditional flat tail ensures the ski stays firm and stable when exiting turns.
Roxy are one of the few brands out there that cater only to women, and because of this they know how to create a range that is perfect for female skiers, their team consists of some of the best athletes in the world including Sochi Gold medallist, Dara Howell. The 2020 Kaya range from Roxy is all about pushing limits, following passion and simply creating the best performing skis for women that the market has to offer!
