About the ZAG Ubac 95L

The Ubac 95 Lady is the ultimate freetouring choice for skiers wanting to hike and skin to access the steepest and most exhilarating lines. If you’ve been pining after an inaccessible couloir or need a super lightweight ski for hut to hut tours such as the Haute route, what better ski to go for than one that was actually inspired and designed in Chamonix! The 2021 Zag Ubac 95 Lady is one of the lightest freetouring/freerando skis on the market, developed, tested and approved by the mountain guides of Chamonix.

The Ubac 95 Lady uses a full paulownia wood core, which has supreme lightness and stability, but is also an eco-conscious decision. Paulownia is an extremely fast growing tree that has been meticulously grown in plantations for hundreds of years, so there is no need for deforestation. The predictable and lively flex that you inherently get from a full woodcore ski is backed up by a carbon/fibreglass layer; this layer provides greater strength with a minimal weight addition.

The sidewall construction of the ski provides strong transmission of power and precision as well as giving you greater grip on firmer snow. With the same construction as their all mountain chargers you know that you’re going to get the performance you crave after a long tour. The strong camber profile underfoot gives you the powerful drive and spring for when you’re navigating tight and steep terrain. A subtle tail rocker allows you to curb your speed with a commanding reliability whilst the short progressive tip rocker improves the ease of initiation, as well as providing the float that inherently comes with rockered skis.

The Ubac series has won multiple awards due to its bewildering lightweight profile that gives incomparable performance in varied terrain. With its strong edge hold this ski inspires confidence when traversing steep terrain and proves dependable in tightest of gulleys.

The 2021 Zag Ubac 95 Lady is an excellent option for any skier looking for one touring ski to do it all, we would recommend this ski for intermediate through to expert skiers looking to challenge themselves on the descent and need a ski to get them there. Its superior downhill performance is what sets it apart from the dedicated touring Adret range whilst its extremely lightweight profile places it above the ever increasing freetouring ski crowd. The Ubac 95 Lady is the same as the Ubac 95, with a slightly softened flex.

The Ubac series has been developed in conjunction with Zag's green program, which focuses on reducing the impact on the environment whilst improving a positive impact locally. The Ubac 95L is made 95% in Europe supporting local businesses and uses recycled materials for edges and the base, in-order to help conserve the environment in which Zag resides.
