About the Armada Tracer 118
The Tracer 118 is our ultimate Big Mountain performer. Elf Shoe Technology in the nose and a slight tail rocker keep things surfy, but this ski is designed with big boy terrain in mind, integrating Adaptive Mesh to absorb and power through any snow condition. Armada paired an even lighter Poplar-Caruba wood core to a larger fiberglass package to further decrease weight and add durability. Titanal reinforcement underfoot and AR 75 Sidewall construction keep the ski damp and powerful for when you need it most.
The Armada Tracer 118 is part of the new and improved Tracer range, featuring a lighter construction, a more playful, intuitive flex and increased durability. The bigger brother to the go-anywhere Tracer 98 the 118 width Tracer definitely leans more towards the backcountry enthusiast but in-bounds it still performs admirably.
The comp series base gives added speed to the ski whilst the AR75 sidewall ensures that you're locked in underfoot but can still gently bend into a turn at slow speeds. On top of this the whole Tracer series features Taper Tops, beveled edges that reduce the weight which have been highlighted this year with a matte finish, to go with the gloss topsheet.
All of the technology in the new Tracer comes together into a perfect blend of reliability, playfulness and a lightweight profile. For anyone considering heading into the backcountry the Armada Tracer 118 is a ski that has to be considered, it has all of the playful character that you would expect from an Armada ski whilst still providing you with a trustworthy platform to push your speed and ability. great for first-time backcountry skiers or experienced enthusiasts the 118 Tracer is an excellent freeride/ski touring addition to any quiver.
Please Note: These skis have been damaged during transit, and have also been used for tech training purposes in our office. There are scratches on the top sheet and base, small dents and a small tear in the top sheet. There is also minor rusting along the edges which can easily be removed. This can be seen in the product images.
- AR75 Sidewalls - Sidewall throughout the ski resulting in superior edge hold, power transmission and shock absorption
- Hybrid Caruba Core - A lighter core makes the ski easier to use but without sacrificing power and performance
- Adaptive Mesh - A variable angle weave optimises vibration damping along the length of the ski to make the ski more damp, stable and tough without adding weight. In the ends of the ski, the weave runs nearly tip-to-tail, filtering chatter and tip bounce. Underfoot, the weave runs nearly side-to-side, filtering vibration
- 1.7 Impact Edge - The edges are heat treated to increase strength without affecting weight
- Comp Series Base - This is a high density, super fast base
- 3D Taper Top -Beveled edges reduce overall weight of the ski without compromising performance
- EST Freeride Rocker -Fore body rocker and extra tip-taper combine to create EST for optimised float in the soft stuff. Positive camber under foot with no tail rocker ensures these skis stay on rails when carving is the priority.
