We all know Vans has a dominate presence as one of the world’s leading skate brands, their skate footwear is up there as one of our favourite that’s for sure! So when the news came that this year the US super brand would be launching a new exciting project we couldn't wait to see it for ourselves. With the ‘House of Vans’ project already causing a stir in Brooklyn, New York, providing a legendary venue for all things skate, music, film and art related, the buzz was infectious, and this summer was the time for London show how we can skate, party and rock out just as hard as those guys in NYC.
With a history of award winning art, music and film programmes, where better to launch Europe’s first House of Vans, than the Old Vic Tunnels, Waterloo.
‘The House of Vans in London is the physical manifestation of the culture and creativity that have defined the Vans brand since 1966.’
Featuring London’s only indoor skate park, a cinema, two bars and a fully kitted out music venue, along with a vibrant art gallery that is free to attend and showcases new artists every eight weeks, this is the place to be right now. With a whole host of awesome events already taking place, Foo Fighters surprise gig being THE highlight so far, and a fantastic line up set to continue for at least the next three years, we can’t wait to see what else Vans have in store for the London skate scene. Hat’s off to whoever decided it was time to give our community a place to share and enjoy the things we love. Whether you’re into your Gilbert Crockett Pro’s or prefer a Rowley, skate or simply have an admiration for the world of cinema, we hope to see you making the most of this magnificent venue soon.
