About the Bataleon Thunder
Based on the Award-winning Storm, from the women's line, the men's Thunder Snowboard from Bataleon is a directional freeride board for riders who want to ride the whole hill.
The Thunder has Freeride Triple Base Technology (3BT), this has a narrow centre base with more side base uplift area and angle in the nose than in the tail. The tapered shape, sidecut and setback stance are optimised for backseat steering, high-speed traction and maximum powder float while the narrow centre base generates swift edge-to-edge transfer and powerful carves.
Bataleon has used Triaxial laminate, a three-way weave of fibreglass that is light, strong and responsive, this increases torsional stiffness and in turn, makes for a really responsive ride. The Light Core, a 50-50 Swiss paulownia and poplar woods blend, provides optimal strength-to-weight properties.
The Ultra Glide S base used in the Thunder is Bataleon's standard sintered base; a premium, 7000-grade sintered base reserved for our high-end models. Packing more molecules into the P-tex means it’s super tough and hauls ass.
Bataleon has used both Carbon Stringers and their Dual Super Tubes in the Thunder. Carbon stingers can make a significant difference in how a board performs; by positioning strips of carbon fibre we can fine-tune the flex, pop, edge hold, response and dampen chatter. While the Dual Super Tube wood core upgrade is made up of two hollow carbon rods which have been milled into the bottom of the core to enhance pop and give the camber more snap.
