The Cartel X Re: Flex uses Burton's Single Component Re: Flex baseplate made from 45% short glass/nylon composite which gives a very similar performance level to a carbon composite baseplate but without breaking your wallet in the process. The baseplate allows you to really find the board's true flex that a traditional disc binding cannot.
The high back is a single-component canted design that increases riding comfort and response by aligning the high back to a natural leg angle. This reduces stress on your knees and ankles and increases the amount of power transmission by ensuring pressure is immediately transferred from the rider to the board. The highback is set to zero lean too and can be changed using Burton's MicroFLAD tool-free forward lean adjuster which can be done anywhere.
