About the Grivel Explorer

The compact and strong anti-slip Explorer micro crampon is a sturdy and rugged crampon designed to be used in slippery terrain that is covered in snow, ice, or mud. Thanks to the shape and design of the rubber upper, it adapts to many types of shoes and guarantees stability on the foot. 14 steel points with anti-corrosion treatment feature on these crampons, along with a back lace to facilitate the crampon to fit onto your footwear. The Explorer crampons are sold together with a zippered pouch so you can store them safely when not in use. Supremely flexible, lightweight, yet still highly durable, you can tackle even the most challenging of slippery conditions in comfort and style.

Took to the top of Yr Wyddfa in winter when the top was still snow and ice capped with winds of 35mph. Did very well keeping us stable on flats and slight inclines but a bit tricky to get on. Easy to remove but would recommend full crampons where the snow and ice covers the ascent.
