About the Head Oblivion 79
Designed with Woodcore Twin Tip construction, the Oblivion skis are a great option for advanced/experts and those looking for a fun and creative ride on the mountain.
The lightweight and low environmental impact construction core is innovated using poplar wood with recycled PET bottle stringers from the recycled pet-wood core which lies at the heart of the build. A lighter core makes a lighter ski; a lighter ski makes an easier ski. The overall result is that these skis are easier to turn than the heavier, more aggressive models in the range. As such they are perfect for those developing their skills with its PNP rocker.
The flex is relaxed, underfoot these skis feature a waist around the 78mm mark; this is a perfect width to handle the vast majority of off-piste snow conditions.
We would recommend the Oblivion 79 skis for those advanced to expert riders who want to develop a freestyle-focused ride for the whole mountain.
- Woodcore Twin-tip construction - A vertically laminated wood core, surrounded by a sock of fibreglass and covered by a durable top sheet. This forgiving twin-tip construction is slightly softer than our sandwich twin-tip layup, making it better for learning pipe and park tricks.
- Recycled pet-wood core - This innovative core uses poplar wood with recycled PET bottle stringers. A lightweight and low environmental impact construction.
- Carbon construction - Carbon layers throughout the ski improve stability and performance while simultaneously saving weight.
- PNP Rocker - Very subtle tip and tail rise with regular camber construction underfoot. PNP Rocker provides a rider with a smother turn initiation as well as reduced edge contact to seamlessly butter into tricks and initiate spins. 30% rocker and 70% camber.
