About the LINE Bacon 108

The new LINE Bacon 108 gives a rebuild and redesign for the long-lived (and long-loved) Sir Francis Bacon. The riders have always loved that its slightly wider platform gave it the edge in the all-mountain arena too. But this next generation of bacon might have seemed like a pretty all-mountain freestyle ski years ago, modern ski shapes are so intuitive to ride that a little extra width can go a long way these days.

LINE's goal when updating the Bacon was to retain and improve those characteristics that skiers love to begin with - a powerful, stable, and snappy performance in the park, and a versatility that inspired confidence whenever you took the ski out of the park. Starting with the Maple MacroBlock core, two full-length maple stringers surrounded by aspen wood lend the ski a springy flex and the inherent damp qualities found with full wood cores. This is built into the Thick Cut sidewall construction, where the sidewall stretches into the core of the ski while adding more material over the steel edges to increase the total bonding surface area.

Whether that's sliding rails or hitting fresh snow off the side of the piste. The tips and tails of the ski feature a new tapered shape, which both improves the way they move through soft snow and lowers their swing weight for a ski that's easy to spin and tap. Thintip technology mills out the wood core around the tips and tails too, lowering their weight even further.

Any ski that's supposed to feel fast, agile, and snappy needs to be able to carve well. 5mm of camber under the ski provides plenty of pop and rebound out of turns, pairing perfectly with the average sidecut radius and high torsional stiffness to guarantee that this is a ski you can lay over and arc all around the hill with stability and precision. A touch of early-rise rocker at the extremities of the ski adds a looser feel and teams up with a softer flex in those areas to help ease up turn initiation as well as help out with butter, presses, ollies, and all manner of playful tricks.

Lastly, top-end durability features like LINE's fatty base & edge and new anti-chip Tuff Top top sheet mean you can throw this ski around at all the features you want, and rest assured that it'll stand up to them. If you're looking for one of the most lively and versatile all-mountain freestyle skis with top-notch park performance for this winter, the Bacon from LINE Skis is one to watch.

Features Include
  • Maple Macroblock Core - 100% wood core made from the best Maple or Aspen laminates for long-lasting camber and energy and the lightest, most durable wood core in the universe
  • Thick Cut Sidewall - Line has extended the amount of sidewall that stretches into the core of the ski while adding more material over the steel edges to increase the total bonding surface area. This creates sidewalls more resilient to hard edge impacts, like sliding rails.
  • Thin Tip - A glass-on-glass bonding area in both the tip and the tail that gives even compaction over the tip/tail of the ski and encapsulates anything that could delaminate in a large glass-on-glass bonding region.
  • Symmetric Flex - The same flex pattern in front and behind your boot conforms to terrain for equal performance riding forward & backward
  • Bio Resin - Featuring better bonding, improved cold temperature toughness, and a 20% reduction in the carbon footprint of the resin for every ski produced
  • Fatty Base & Edge - 30% thicker base and edge increases the durability and tuning life of your skis
