Salewa's Alpine-Tec Hammer Hybrid Axe is designed for general to more technical mountaineering in steeper climbs, making it an ideal pick for snowy couloirs to steep slopes.

With a slight curve to the upper shaft, aggressive 3mm blade and precision-cast steel head, the Alpine-Tec Hammer offers fantastic clearance, great snow and ice penetration on alpine couloirs and glaciers, and excellent anchoring thanks to its weight being concentrated toward the top. Moreover, its ergonomic design is not only extremely comfortable but adjustable without the need for tools, letting you adapt it on the go without needing to make camp or haul additional weight on the mountainside.

Salewa's design also incorporates a sharp, replaceable carbide tip at the bottom of the shaft of the Alpine-Tec Hammer, providing greater contact when traversing compact snow and ice.

Complete with a sharpened adze for effective cutting of steps, a nut-shaped hammer for anchoring pitons, and holes at both the head and base of the shaft to allow you to clip carabiners, the Alpine-Tec Hammer is a perfect technical hybrid pick of axe and hammer that is ideal for a range of general mountaineering to more technical summits.
