About the Slingfin SplitWing UL Tarp & Mesh Inner

This package combines Slingfin's SplitWing UL Tarp and Mesh Body inner into one seriously compact and versatile hiking and trekking combo.

The SplitWing UL Tarp, weighing just 315g, offers Slingfin's most minimal hiking shelter without compromising space or weather protection. It accommodates up to two people, with an adjustable head height of between 105-120cm. The design uses trekking poles/tarp poles (not included) and features an enclosed foot area for added weather protection. A lower pitch angle lets you prioritise the floor area with a reduced profile for storm protection; a higher pitch angle offers increased headroom for added comfort. The enclosed foot area further increases weather protection and helps reduce drafts. Where terrain allows, the apex guy-point system lets you pitch between two trees instead of using poles.

Slingfin uses only the finest grade fabrics and materials in their designs with the SplitWing featuring an ultralight 10D nylon ripstop rainfly. Silicone treatment on both sides of the fabric creates a high level of waterproofing while strategically placed 20D nylon ripstop adds strength and durability. These superlight fabrics balance a hard-wearing design with a minimal pack weight and bulk for a thoroughly practical rainproof and UV-resistant design.

The SplitWing Mesh Body transforms the tarp into a double-wall tent for added weather and insect protection with a minimal weight penalty.

Attachment is quick and easy using a toggle and loop system and is roomy enough for one, although it can accommodate two in a pinch. A fine mesh construction keeps out the smallest of biting nasties while straight zippers increase durability and a durable PE-coated 20D ripstop floor protects from ground moisture. Mesh Body includes guylines only.
