About the Cassin Blade Runner

The Blade Runner from Cassin gives you a versatile alpine crampon with an innovative design that makes them compatible with a wide range of mountaineering boots and footwear. As long as the boot features a rear welt, then the Blade Runner will adjust to fit.

Tool free adjustment makes it quick and convenient to use on the move. An automatic rear bail features a low profile micro adjustment dial for a snug fit. At the front, the modular design lets you choose between an automatic wire bail or semi-automatic cradle for use with boots without rigid toe lugs. A webbing strap and front retention bar adds further security.

The Blade Runner features interchangeable front points offering a range of configurations from dual to mono, centered or offset. The front platform is constructed from chromoly steel alloy to reduce impact energy while maintaining under foot rigidity. The elimination of connection joints leaves little room for play for a stiffer, more stable feel when negotiating technical terrain. A patented Sandvik Nanoflex steel heel slide integrates the benefits of vertical and horizontal frame crampon designs for a lighter, optimal blend of strength and flex.

The Blade Runner naturally reduces balling with its inverted V-shaped front platform and rear antiball plates which prevent the build-up of wet snow and ice underfoot which can otherwise render grip ineffective and lead to slips and falls.

The two parts are designed to fit together - points inward - to be stowed safely in the included bag when not in use.
