About the HPS
Part of the Salomon Hillside Collection, the Salomon HPS Taka Splitboard has been designed & crafted by Wolfgang Nyvelt and pro snowboarder Takaharu Nakai for the ultimate touring experience.
The HPS - Taka Split has been built using the Ghost Green Core, Salomon use carefully selected materials to optimise pop & performance whilst reducing weight. This combined with super light & sustainable Paulownia wood, plus the Biaxial medium density fibreglass layup ensures a consistent lively board feel and performance through the life of the board.
Salomon's Popster tech shapes the core to maximise the natural snap of the wood. To do this the wood core is thicker at the centre of the board then tapers out to thinner sections then thickens again towards the nose and tail, this creates an insane amount of powerful pop! For even more pop, Ghost Carbon Stringers are placed from tip to tail. This will enhance stability at high speeds and will feel mellow for easy manoeuvrability.
Salomon's Powder Camber profile uses traditional positive camber between the feet, perfect for precise carving and a huge rocker on the nose for insane flotation in deep pow and the lightning-fast sintered EG base gives you silky-smooth glide on fresh powder and top speed on the groomers.
The HPS Taka Split comes with custom POMOCA skins along with a specific bag that lets you fold the skin back in just a couple of seconds so you don’t have to struggle even when conditions are less than perfect. Salomon has used PLUM hooks, specifically made for high-performance splitboarding with an asymmetric profile to guarantee a perfect link between all the parts.

- All Mountain Edge Bevel - Detuning the tip and tail to a 1-degree edge holding tune throughout the key parts of the sidecut, back to a 2-degree bevel between the feet. This delivers the most solid edge hold with no hang-ups for all-mountain versatility
- Sintered EG -Engineered for a super fast glide in everything from fresh pow to sticky spring snow. Sintered material provides superior wax retention, Gallium strengthens impact resistance and the Electra finish gives a turbocharged glide
- PLUM hooks -PLUM hooks are specifically made for high-performance splitboarding. Their asymmetric profile guarantee a perfect link between all the parts. They are light, easy to use.
