About the Salewa Ortles Edge Mid GTX

The Ortles Edge Mid GTX from Salewa is a versatile, lightweight and comfortable crampon-compatible boot, ideal for weight-conscious mountain hikers, alpine mountaineering and via ferratas.

The upper is made from hard-wearing Schoeller fabric and is reinforced by a protective TPU rand, making these boots incredibly tough and durable while keeping the weight down. The anti-debris ankle gaiters help to keep out mud and scree, while Salewa's Ankle Protector System (APS) offers support and flexibility on varying terrain. Lined with a Gore-Tex Performance Comfort membrane, the Ortles Edge Mid GTX is also fully waterproof.

The Ortles Edge Mid GTX features Salewa's 3F System which uses Kevlar cables to bind the heel, instep and sole of the boot together and lock your foot in place. With 3D climbing lacing and adaptive eyelets, these boots offer a secure yet comfortable fit for mountain ascents and technical routes.

For unbeatable comfort, these mountaineering boots have a customisable MFF+ footbed, allowing you to adjust and interchange layers for the perfect fit. The dual density EVA midsole provides cushioning underfoot while the Pomoca™ Alpine Dynamic outsole uses a specialist rubber compound to ensure grip and stability on snow, ice and rock. The outsole also has a climbing zone for extra precision and utilises Salewa's S-Path technology to propel you forwards and reduce fatigue.
